Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced ecologist to join our environmental practice in Queensland. You will lead ecological surveys, assess ecological impacts, and contribute to permitting and mitigation strategies across multi-disciplinary tenders.

With 6+ years in flora, fauna and ecological communities, you’ll mentor a team, engage clients, and deliver high-quality reporting. Hybrid work options and ongoing professional development are available.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of ecology experience in Queensland.
• Ability to lead project delivery and mentor a team.
• Experience with environmental approvals and impact reporting.
• GIS proficiency (ArcGIS Pro) preferred.
• Willingness to undertake fieldwork across Queensland with a valid driver’s license and 4WD experience.

Responsibilities

• Ecological impact assessment and offsetting for projects across scales.
• Plan, deliver and manage ecology surveys; analyze results and mitigation strategies.
• Provide risk-based advisory and high-quality technical reporting.
• Identify efficiencies and digital solutions to work smarter.
• Support strategic growth, technical excellence and innovation in ecology.
• Assist with project management including financial performance.
