Job summary

The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) is seeking an experienced Senior Dynamics365 Developer to lead design, build and support of Dynamics 365 applications within the Enterprise Digital Delivery Branch.

You will drive project execution, set strategic direction, and ensure alignment with agency goals while mentoring team members to deliver high-quality integrations across Azure platforms.

The Team

The Enterprise Digital Delivery Branch delivers Information, Communication and Technology services to the AEC and is divided into three sections: IT Solutions, IT Event Solutions and IT Integration. ICT services are delivered through a select sourcing model, with a mixture of in-house and outsourced resources.

The EDD Branch is committed to building the agency’s information technology capability by providing resilient, modern and secure systems informed by data and insights, and to upskill teams to develop innovative new products and services.

The Opportunity

The AEC is seeking an experienced Senior Dynamics365 Developer, with extensive experience in developing Dynamics365 applications, the DevOps operating methodology, and Microsoft Azure cloud-based Dynamics365 systems to support an active program of work.

The Senior Dynamics365 Developer holds a central role in orchestrating the team's efforts to design, build, and support the AEC’s existing Dynamics365 applications. This role is responsible for overseeing project execution, setting strategic direction, and ensuring alignment with organisation goals.

The Senior Dynamics365 Developer fosters a collaborative and productive environment, allocates tasks, monitors progress, and resolves challenges. The Senior Dynamics365 Developer also acts as a liaison between CRM Developers, Business Analysts, Testing and project teams, ensuring that developed solutions meet business requirements and deadlines.

Additionally, the Senior Dynamics365 Developer provides mentorship, facilitates knowledge sharing, and empowers team members to deliver high-quality integrations, contributing to the efficiency and success of the section.

To excel you’ll have:

• Proven experience in leading technical teams and managing the design, development and deployment of custom applications using Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Azure platforms, including recommending software purchases.
• Expert proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Relationship Management (CRM) with a focus on Customisation & Configuration, Plug-ins and Workflows.
• Strong understanding of security best practices in Dynamics 365.
• Comprehensive understanding of DevOps pipeline and release and environment management, CI-CD pipeline for D365 implementation.
• Demonstrated experience in successfully managing and delivering results within time restraints and with competing priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage staff while developing capabilities, encouraging career development and embedding professionalism.
• Demonstrated personal drive and integrity whilst achieving results within legislative and budget parameters.
• Proven ability to communicate with influence, negotiate outcomes and manage complex stakeholder relationships, including across a geographically dispersed network.

Desirable

• A relevant bachelor’s degree or higher qualification. At least five years of relevant experience and/or relevant vendor certification may substitute for the formal qualification.
• Proven conceptual and analytical abilities with sound knowledge of change management practices and techniques to enable innovation.
• Knowledge of contemporary Application Architecture principles and practices.
• Knowledge of, or ability to quickly gain knowledge of, Australian electoral law and practice.
• Knowledge of, or ability to quickly gain knowledge of, the Commonwealth frameworks, including ICT frameworks.
