A.I.R Recruitment has a senior draftsperson opportunity on the Sunshine Coast. You will join the fire protection design and drafting team, delivering designs, drawings and hydraulic calculations for commercial, retail and industrial projects.

Role involves stakeholder liaison with certifiers, engineers and clients, plus contributing to team growth and service delivery standards.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in engineering, drafting or building services discipline favourable.
• Experience with fire protection systems and building services preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Australian codes and standards.

Responsabilités

• Develop designs and modelling for various wet and dry fire service systems in accordance with codes, standards and NCC.
• Produce working drawings, cutting sheets and material take-offs; carry out site measures.
• Carry out hydraulic calculations and assist with project documentation.
• Consult with certifier, fire engineer and client; attend design meetings.
• Review tender docs for non-compliance and support project completion documentation.

Due to growth, we are seeking a Senior Draftsperson to join their team on the Sunshine Coast. As a key member of the fire protection design and drafting team, you will be responsible for providing effective project and technical solutions, designs and modelling for a range of building / fire protection projects including commercial, retail and industrial buildings. You will also be involved in building strong stakeholder relationships and contributing to the internal growth of the team.

The role:

• Develop designs and modelling for various wet and dry fie service systemsin accordance with the relevant codes Australian standards, Brigade requirements, Fire engineering reports and NCC (if Applicable)
• Produce working drawings and plans, provide cutting sheets and material take offs
• Carry out site measures if required
• Carry out hydraulic calculations
• Process purchase orders to our suppliers for materials
• Attend design meetings as required
• Consult with the building certifier and fire Engineer and the client
• Review tender documentation for non compliance
• Process purchase orders to our suppliers for materials
• Assist in providing the project completion documentation
• Assist the with any designs / structural engineering enquiries as required
• Carry out compliance audits and assessments

What we're looking for:

• Experience working in building, construction, architectual, buildings Services / fire sprinklers, hydraulic - Fire systems design favorable but not essential
• Qualifications in engineering, drafting or building services discipline favourable
• 3 + years relevant experience
• Experience designing fire sprinkler systems, hydrants / water tanks / piping and some Hydraulics projects.
• Past experience using Revit / AutoCADon local projects preferred.
• Experience with fabrication sheets useful
• Knowledge and experience using Australian codes and standards
• Good all round communication skills
• Experience preparing and producing fabrication sheets is useful but not essential.
• Some prior knowledge of the Australian Standards and local Authority requirements.
• Strong adherence to and awareness of Australian safety standards.
• Good communication skills written and verbal.
• Valid drivers licence
