Job summary

Mackay Hospital and Health Service is embarking on the Mackay Hospital Expansion Project, seeking a Senior Director to provide strategic leadership for capital infrastructure planning and construction across MHHS regions.

The Senior Director will ensure high performance and compliance in planning, design, construction and commissioning of the project, valued at $780 million, and lead a team to deliver improved inpatient beds, parking and expanded health services.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for Mackay Hospital Expansion Projects (MHEP) within MHHS, overseeing planning, design, construction and commissioning.
• Ensure high levels of performance and compliance across capital infrastructure projects and related milestones.
• Oversee delivery of the $780 million Mackay Hospital Expansion Projects within the Mackay, Isaac and Whitsunday regions.

The Mackay Hospital Expansion Project Team is seeking applications for a Senior Director to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your opportunity

Provide strategic leadership for Mackay Hospital and Health Service (MHHS) in the capital infrastructure planning and construction of the Mackay Hospital Expansion Projects (MHEP) and other Capital Projects, ensuring high levels of performance and compliance in the planning, design, construction, and commissioning of the $780 million, Mackay Hospital Expansion Projects.

About the Team

Planning is underway for a major expansion of the Mackay Base Hospital that will deliver more overnight beds, more carparking and expanded health services. The Queensland Government has committed to the Mackay Hospital Expansion Project (MHEP) is part of the Queensland Government's Hospital Rescue Plan. The Mackay Hospital expansion will deliver:

• At least 128 new overnight beds
• Services including surgical, maternity, neonatal and paediatric
• A new, fully developed plan that meets Hospital and Health Service and clinical needs
• A multi-storey car park
• A new helipad

The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
