Job summary

Arista Networks, a leader in data-driven cloud networking, seeks a Sr Director of Hardware Engineering in Sydney. You will scale and mentor a diverse hardware organization, guiding engineers across hardware, firmware, and FPGA domains to deliver high-density, high-bandwidth Ethernet switches.

You will partner with software and central engineering to expand local teams, optimize development labs, and drive manufacturability while aligning with product roadmaps.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics.
• 4+ years of Management experience in hardware teams.
• 10+ years of experience in networking or systems hardware design.

Responsibilities

• Scale and grow the Sydney hardware organization.
• Mentor and motivate hardware, firmware, signal integrity, diags, and FPGA engineers.
• Define and implement processes and tools to improve productivity.
• Establish Sydney hardware labs for development and testing.
• Collaborate with SW and Central Engineering to grow local teams.
• Provide guidance to resolve complex hardware bring-up issues.
• Translate product direction into executable system designs.
• Drive vendor roadmaps for key components.
• Communicate project status and changes to stakeholders.
• Review schematic and board designs.
