Job summary

Downer’s Energy & Utilities group seeks a Communications and Stakeholder Engagement Director to lead community engagement, stakeholder relations and Aboriginal participation across major power transmission and substation projects in Australia. You will shape engagement strategies, advise project leadership, and build trusted relationships with communities and government.

Reporting to senior leadership, you will manage a multidisciplinary team and oversee engagement programs to ensure compliance

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in community engagement, stakeholder relations or communications.
• 15+ years in engagement or communications, with at least 5 years in a senior role.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engagement teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships.
• Collaborative leadership style with ability to influence at senior levels.
• Tertiary qualification in communications or related discipline; IAP2 Certificate desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy for community and stakeholder engagement across major infrastructure projects.
• Provide strategic advice on engagement issues, community impacts, and project reputation.
• Manage relationships with government agencies, councils, Traditional Custodians and landowners.
• Oversee delivery of engagement programs across transmission and substation works.
