The ACT Ambulance Service (ACTAS) is seeking a skilled, highly organised and driven Senior Director, Workforce and Business Strategy to join its Senior Leadership Team and play a key role in shaping the future direction of the Service.

Reporting directly to the Chief Officer ACTAS, you will lead a high-performing and collaborative team responsible for ACTAS workforce planning and the oversight of key business functions. You will provide professional and authoritative advice on workforce strategy, organisational capability and business planning, supporting evidence-based decision-making and ensuring ACTAS is positioned to meet future operational demands. The role requires exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to prepare high-level and sensitive written materials, influence decision-making, and represent ACTAS in a range of internal and external forums.

The successful applicant will be an accomplished leader with demonstrated experience in strategic workforce planning, business management, governance and organisational leadership. You will bring strong analytical, communication and relationship management skills, coupled with a commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement. This is an outstanding opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the future of ACTAS and the health and wellbeing of the Canberra community.

  • Driver's license is essential.

  • This position does not require a Working with Vulnerable People Registration.

Note: This is a temporary position available immediately until 31 March 2027 with the possibility of extension up to six months. This position is available to ACT Government officers and employees only.

Closes: 02 November 2026
