Details: The Emergency Services Agency (ESA) is looking for an experienced Assistant Director, Procurement and Project Support to support the delivery of the Sustainable ICT for ESA project, a significant program encompassing critical emergency services technology including Emergency 000, CAD, MDS, DTS and the Territory Radio Network.

Working closely with the ESA ICT Critical Systems and Projects team, you will help coordinate complex procurement and contracting activities, provide advice to stakeholders and ensure procurement processes meet legislative and probity requirements.

You will also support the ongoing management of key contracts, including contractor performance, deliverables, variations and renewals, while providing project coordination and broader support across the program.

If you have strong procurement and contract management experience, sound judgement and the ability to build productive stakeholder relationships, this is an opportunity to contribute to technology that directly supports frontline emergency service delivery.

We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experience, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community. We encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, people with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, veterans, younger and older workers, and people with diverse genders, sexes and sexualities to apply.

  • Background / Security clearance checks will be conducted
  • Driver’s license ‘Class C’ is desirable.
  • This position does not require a pre-employment medical
  • This position does not require a Working with Vulnerable People Check.

Experience in areas such as government writing, Cabinet processes, governance and committee management, stakeholder engagement, strategic reform, or policy development will be highly regarded. We welcome applicants with a range of backgrounds and experiences and recognise that no candidate is likely to bring expertise across every aspect of the role.

The successful applicant must be an Australian citizen and possess or be able to acquire and maintain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) security clearance at the baseline level.

Where an offer of employment is for a fixed-term period, any related temporary contracts within the Territory will be issued in compliance with the requirements and applicable exceptions outlined in the Fair Work Act.

The ACT public service is committed to closing the gap, underpinned by the belief that when Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have a genuine say in the design and delivery of policies, programs and services that affect them, better life outcomes are achieved.
