Job summary

John Holland Pty Ltd is seeking a Senior Digital Engineering professional to support large-scale rail and infrastructure projects in Australia. The role focuses on establishing digital engineering workflows, data analytics, and model coordination across multidisciplinary teams.

You will implement DE processes, manage model datasets, and deliver dashboards using Power BI, while coordinating with design partners and internal stakeholders to drive project objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor level degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical Eng, Building Services, Built Environment or Architecture.
  • Post graduate qualification in Civil/Structural/Mechanical Eng or Architecture is favourable.
  • Advanced understanding of Project and Construction Management.
  • Local and/or International DE Accreditation.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and implement DE workflows and processes to support objectives.
  • Perform all model activities and setup for projects.
  • Develop data visualisation dashboards (e.g., Power BI) from model data.
  • Coordinate model data and manage Common Data Environment (CDE).
  • Lead design coordination and review governance documents with stakeholders.
  • Provide DE training and guidance to project teams.

About the Project

The Linewide Alliance, comprising John Holland, Alstom, RATP Dev, KBR and WSP, are excited to be delivering the transformative Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East Linewide package.

When SRL opens, the new rail services for passengers will also be delivered by, a venture between RATP Dev and John Holland to operate and maintain the franchise for 15 years from 2035, to be known as TransitLinx.

The Alliance will deliver a world-class, service-proven driverless metro system that sets new benchmarks for comfort, safety, and reliability for Melbourne.

SRL is a transport and urban planning project that will deliver world-class public transport, reduce travel times, and support the delivery of more homes and housing.

About the Role;

Support the digital engineering process on John Holland projects. Provide technical expertise and establish digital engineering workflows and processes, including support in the building anddevelopment of data analytics dashboards, model coordination tasks and construction modelling support tasks through project delivery.

What you will do;

Support the Digital Engineering Manager at the project level.
Establish and implement DE workflows and processes that support project objectives.
Perform all model activities and setup.
Support and utilise established information management activities.
Manage file sharing between internal disciplines and external design partners.
Provide DE guidance for process, tools and deliverables to project team members.
Perform DE Management and Coordination activities where required.
Review and provide feedback to Digital Engineering Manager on project governance documents (e.g. Management Plans).
Develop and handle model datasets and develop into data visualisation platforms (e.g. dashboards – Power Bi).
Support and continually update Common Data Environment(s) CDE.
Update and deliver model federation processes.
Provide training support through coaching and sharing of knowledge (where required).
Support and facilitate coordination meetings along with Digital Engineering Manager.
Implement and review model coordination tasks (clash detection processes). Including modelling of construction/delivery team tasks and concepts.
Review and document design coordination conflicts.
Meet with designers/stakeholders as required to facilitate DE practices.

What we are looking for;

Qualifications:

Tertiary Degree (Bachelor level) in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Built Environment or Architecture.

Post Graduate Qualification in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Built Environment or Architecture (favourable).

Advanced understanding in Project and Construction Management.

Local and/or International DE Accreditation.

Experience:

Demonstrated major projects experience in the Engineering Consulting or Construction industry, with DE experience on large multi discipline projects.

Exposure to major multi-discipline engineering and construction delivery.

Practical experience with design authoring tools, Autodesk Revit, Bentley Microstation, OpenRoads, OpenRail, Civil3D, 12d Model.

Significant Design and Construction experience on projects greater than $1b. AUD.
