Job summary

AustCorp Executive is seeking a Senior Diesel Mechanic to join our Bendigo fleet maintenance team in an established Australian business. This hands-on leadership role supports the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor and acts as the 2IC to coordinate servicing, diagnostics and repairs.

You will work across trucks, fleet vehicles, forklifts and generators, providing technical guidance to junior mechanics and apprentices while upholding safety standards and accurate service records.

Qualifications

• Experience in diesel mechanics and heavy vehicles.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to prioritise maintenance tasks and lead others.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems; basic electrical diagnostics.

An established Australian business is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join its fleet maintenance team in a hands‑on 2IC role.

Working alongside the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll help maintain a diverse fleet while supporting workshop coordination, prioritising maintenance tasks and providing technical guidance to junior mechanics and apprentices.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanic ready to take the next step into a leadership role.

About the Role

• Carry out servicing, preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis and repairs.
• Work across trucks, fleet vehicles, forklifts, generators and other equipment.

About You

• Experience in diesel mechanics, heavy vehicles, agricultural machinery, heavy plant or a similar environment.
• Strong mechanical fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, with basic electrical diagnostic capability.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to support others and prioritise competing maintenance requirements.

A relevant mechanical trade qualification is highly regarded. Previous supervisory or Leading Hand experience is advantageous but not essential — experienced senior mechanics ready to step into a 2IC position are encouraged to apply.
