Job summary

Chandler Macleod Group is seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join a busy Seaford workshop, supporting maintenance of a diverse fleet of plant, equipment and vehicles.

You will perform preventative maintenance, servicing and repairs to ensure safe operations. The role emphasises hands-on fault diagnostics, safe work practices and timely servicing to minimise downtime.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Heavy Diesel Mechanics.
• Experience maintaining heavy vehicles, plant and equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with diesel, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Experience with oxy-acetylene brazing and MIG welding.
• Ability to meet servicing deadlines and work safely.
• Strong communication and a team orientation.
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy plant, equipment and vehicles.

Heavy Diesel Mechanic - Fleet & Plant Maintenance

Seaford | $54 per hour + Super | Contract until 11 December 2026

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join a busy workshop environment, supporting the maintenance and reliability of a diverse fleet of plant, equipment and vehicles.

This role plays a key part in ensuring operations continue to run efficiently through preventative maintenance, servicing and repairs across a broad range of assets.

In this hands‑on position, you will be responsible for maintaining fleet vehicles, plant and equipment to the highest safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy plant, equipment and vehicles
• Diagnosing faults across diesel, hydraulic and pneumatic systems

About You

Essential Requirements

• Trade Certificate in Heavy Stream Diesel Mechanics
• Current Victorian Driver Licence
• Current Medium Rigid (MR) Licence
• Experience maintaining plant and fleet vehicles

Desirable

• Heavy Rigid (HR) Licence
• Forklift Licence
• Previous fleet workshop or plant maintenance experience
