Job summary

Westpac Group is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join the WIB Intelligence Layer & Data Platforms team in Sydney/Melbourne on a hybrid basis. You will apply cloud, automation and data-platform expertise to build a secure, scalable Snowflake-enabled platform across Azure and AWS.

You will design multi-tenant Snowflake structures, develop data pipelines, monitor performance, and ensure governance while enabling analytics, AI/ML and API integrations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands‑on Cloud and DevOps Engineering experience.
• Strong CI/CD, automation and production‑grade platform engineering experience.
• Experience with data lakes, big data and secure data integration patterns.
• Multi‑cloud capability across AWS, Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design multi-tenant Snowflake account structures, including Dev/Test/Prod segmentation, RBAC, cost controls, and reporting.
• Develop secure, scalable integration patterns and data pipelines across Azure, AWS and enterprise platforms.
• Build and operationalise a Snowflake-based intelligence layer supporting analytics, AI/ML and LLM service integration.
• Monitor platform performance, apply cost-control strategies and uphold security and governance standards.
• Enable reliable pipelines and APIs connecting key enterprise platforms and downstream systems.

Bring your cloud, automation and data-platform expertise to complex institutional banking challenges while helping shape a secure, scalable Snowflake platform across Microsoft Azure and AWS.

• Monitor platform performance, apply cost-control strategies and uphold security and governance standards.
• Enable reliable pipelines and APIs connecting key enterprise platforms and downstream systems.
