Job summary

Westbury Partners in Sydney, NSW, is seeking a senior DevOps/Infrastructure Engineer to design, operate and optimise highly available, low-latency infrastructure supporting global trading operations. You will manage AWS, Kubernetes, and containerised workloads while building IaC with Terraform and configuration management with Ansible.

You will develop automation with Python and Bash, implement observability with Prometheus and Grafana, and lead incident response and security tooling to improve

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps, SRE or infrastructure engineering in production environments.
• Strong Linux administration and AWS cloud infrastructure experience.
• Hands-on Kubernetes and containerised workloads experience.
• IaC experience with Terraform and Ansible.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting and automation.
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana and production observability.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, latency optimisation and capacity planning.
• Knowledge of cloud security, IAM, SIEM and secure CI/CD practices.
• Experience with Google Cloud or Azure is advantageous.
• Exposure to cryptocurrency, digital assets or financial trading environments would be a strong bonus.

Responsibilities

• Design, operate and optimise highly available, low-latency infrastructure supporting global trading operations.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across compute, networking, storage and applications.
• Manage and scale AWS infrastructure, Kubernetes environments and containerised workloads.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and configuration management with Ansible.
• Develop automation and tooling using Python and Bash.
• Implement and improve monitoring and observability using Prometheus, Grafana and related technologies.
• Lead incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and preventative improvements.
• Strengthen cloud security, IAM, threat detection and secure CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with developers, traders and security teams to continuously improve infrastructure performance and reliability.
• Participate in a rotational daytime on-call schedule, supporting global operations across APAC and Europe.
