Job summary

Iterate is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to design and stand up an Azure DevOps capability from scratch for a 4-week engagement. The role is remote within Australia with an immediate start, requiring strong Azure DevOps expertise and security-focused architecture.

You will build the organisation, pipelines, and IaC patterns while embedding security from day one, so the internal team can take over quickly and confidently. Short, outcome-driven contracts are expected.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building Azure DevOps environments from the ground up.
• Strong SecOps background in Azure, including Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Key Vault and Azure Policy.
• Hands-on Infrastructure as Code skills (Bicep, ARM or Terraform).
• Experience integrating security tooling into pipelines (SAST, dependency scanning, secret detection).
• The confidence to make design decisions and explain the reasoning to a non-specialist audience.
• A track record of delivering in short, outcome-focused contracts.

We're partnering with a long-established, Australia based business that's setting up its Azure DevOps capability from scratch. They need an experienced engineer to design and build a secure foundation, with security baked in from day one rather than bolted on later.

It's a focused 4 week engagement, so we're looking for someone who's done this before, can make sound architectural calls quickly and leave behind something the internal team can confidently run with.

What you'll be doing
