Job summary

HUB24 is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, implement and continuously improve cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and operational excellence. You will work across Platform, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Product and Test teams to deliver secure, scalable, reliable technology solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in DevOps, Cloud/Platform Engineering or related fields.
• Experience with enterprise cloud environments and automation.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud platforms on AWS and/or GCP.
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code solutions (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Establish cloud networking, security, governance and platform standards.
• Build reusable infrastructure modules for consistency and efficiency.
• Design and optimise container platforms including Kubernetes.
• Design, implement and optimise CI/CD pipelines and deployment frameworks.
• Automate build, test, deployment and release processes.
• Lead engineering standards, quality gates, and automation-first practices.
• Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous service improvement.
• Manage vulnerability remediation and secrets management in collaboration with security.

The Senior DevOps Engineer is a senior technical specialist responsible for designing, implementing, automating, and continuously improving cloud platforms, infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, observability solutions, and operational excellence practices. This role partners closely with Platform, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, Product, and Test teams to deliver secure, scalable, reliable, and highly available technology solutions. The position provides technical leadership, drives DevOps maturity, and champions automation, innovation, and engineering best practices across the organisation.

What you’ll be doing

Cloud & Platform Engineering

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud platforms across AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies.
• Establish cloud networking, security, identity management, governance, and platform standards.
• Build reusable infrastructure modules to support consistency and operational efficiency.
• Design, administer, and optimise container platforms, including Kubernetes environments.
• DevOps & Automation
• Design, implement, and optimise CI/CD pipelines and deployment frameworks.
• Automate software build, testing, deployment, and release processes.
• Drive adoption of DevOps principles, developer enablement, and self-service platform capabilities.
• Establish engineering standards, controls, quality gates, and automation-first practices.
• Reliability, Security & Operations
• Implement and enhance monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting capabilities.
• Support Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, resilience testing, and service reliability improvements.
• Lead production incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous service improvement initiatives.
• Manage vulnerability remediation, patching, secrets management, and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with Cyber Security teams to ensure secure-by-design solutions and adherence to governance standards.
• Technical Leadership
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, coaching, and peer reviews across engineering teams.
• Contribute to architecture decisions, technology roadmaps, and platform strategy.
• Lead the resolution of complex technical challenges and operational issues.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote engineering excellence across the organisation.

What you bring

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 7 years’ experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Proven experience operating and supporting enterprise-scale cloud environments.
• Demonstrated success implementing DevOps, automation, and platform engineering practices.
• Experience leading cloud migration, platform transformation, or modernization initiatives.
• Experience supporting business-critical production systems in high-availability environments.
• Experience working within Agile delivery frameworks.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes, or Terraform are highly desirable.
