Job summary

HUB24 in Melbourne is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build and operate secure, scalable software across full-stack using .NET, JavaScript/TypeScript, AWS, and AI-assisted tooling, while providing technical leadership and mentoring.

You will work hands-on in a senior role, collaborating with Product, Architecture, QA, DevOps and Security to deliver high-quality financial services software in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ software engineering experience with senior-level responsibility.
• Strong C# and .NET skills, including ASP.NET Core, Web API, SQL.
• Full-stack experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and Vue.js or React.
• Hands-on experience designing and operating secure, scalable solutions in AWS.
• Strong DevOps capability, including Git, automated testing, CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
• Experience with modern engineering practices, including secure coding, design patterns and Agile delivery.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools responsibly, with an understanding of security, privacy and governance.
• Exposure to LLMs, RAG, Python, Amazon Bedrock/SageMaker, Docker or Kubernetes is advantageous.
• Financial services or other regulated-industry experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain secure, scalable full-stack applications, services, APIs and databases.
• Apply strong engineering principles, including SOLID principles, design patterns, secure coding and automated testing.
• Design and operate AWS cloud solutions with a focus on reliability, scalability, observability, security and cost efficiency.
• Use infrastructure as code and CI/CD to automate secure and repeatable software delivery.
• Support production environments, including incident response, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and operational improvements.
• Use approved AI coding and engineering tools responsibly to improve productivity and contribute to AI-enabled solutions.
• Drive engineering quality through automated testing, peer reviews, documentation, observability and continuous improvement.
• Identify and manage technical debt while maintaining agreed architecture and engineering standards.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentor engineers throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Champion Agile delivery, continuous feedback and modern engineering practices.
• Partner with Product, Architecture, QA, DevOps, Security, Application Support and business stakeholders to deliver strong customer outcomes.
• Build effective stakeholder relationships while balancing customer needs, risk, quality and delivery priorities.
