Job summary

The University of Sydney is seeking an Associate Director Development, museums and cultural engagement, to lead major gifts fundraising within the Advancement Portfolio for Arts and Culture. The role focuses on cultivating relationships with high-net-worth donors and aligning donor passions with the Chau Chak Wing Museum and broader cultural initiatives.

You will work with senior leaders to advance philanthropy across the university, drive team leadership, and contribute to a multiyear strategy

Qualifications

Experience as a development professional including cultivation and solicitation of 6- and 7-figure major gifts.
Demonstrated cultural competence and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ contributions; ability to build natural relationships across cultures.
Strong people leadership and mentoring experience with team leadership.
Strategic thinking with ability to plan months or years in advance.
High emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
Donor-centric approach with a track record of achieving targets.

Responsibilities

Raise major financial gifts to support projects and programs, including the Chau Chak Wing Museum and broader cultural engagement.
Develop relationships with high-net-worth donors and connect their passions to University priorities.
Build strong internal relationships with senior leaders to align donor interests with institutional work.
Lift the profile of philanthropy across the Institution and contribute to major campaign efforts.
