Clarence City Council in Hobart, Australia, seeks an experienced development engineer to assess complex proposals and provide expert engineering advice. You’ll help shape outcomes for the community and council through sound judgement and technical leadership.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree with substantial development engineering experience, strong regulatory knowledge, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering (or related discipline) with significant development engineering experience.
• Experience assessing complex development proposals and infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of planning, development and engineering legislation and approvals.
• Ability to provide sound technical advice and solve complex problems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship skills.
• Current driver’s license, National Police Check (within 6 months), and White Card.

Responsabilités

• Assess complex development applications, subdivisions and infrastructure proposals and provide expert engineering advice.
• Shape development outcomes by collaborating with developers, consultants, agencies and the community.
• Review designs, reports and strategies to meet Council standards.
• Provide technical leadership and peer support to Development Engineers and staff.
• Contribute to engineering policies, standards and processes.
• Support strategic projects for future growth and infrastructure needs.
