Job summary

Osborne Richardson is partnering with Canterbury Bankstown Council for a Senior Development Engineer (Technical) contract based at the Civic Tower head office in Bankstown, Sydney. This is a senior specialist role requiring extensive local government experience and a solid civil engineering background.

Osborne Richardson are proud to partner with councils right across Australia, and we're working with Canterbury Bankstown Council on a cracking Senior Development Engineer (Technical) contract, based at Council's Civic Tower head office in Bankstown.

This is a senior specialist role for an experienced development engineer who knows their way around local government, NSW legislation and land subdivision, and who can bring their A game from day one.

What you'll be doing

• Providing senior specialist advice on development and civil engineering matters
• Assessing the engineering aspects of development and land subdivision proposals
• Applying the EP&A Act, Local Government Act and Roads Act to development engineering decisions
• Working alongside Council's planners, engineers, developers and consultants to get good outcomes on the ground

What you'll need

• A degree in Civil Engineering
• A current NSW Class C driver's licence
• Experience as a senior specialist providing expert advice on development and civil engineering matters, some of it in a local government environment
• A broad and specific understanding of the EP&A Act, Local Government Act and Roads Act
• Land subdivision experience
• A relevant postgraduate degree, diploma or certificate

What's on offer: up to $64.81 per hour + super, a temporary contract until the end of March 2027 with extension likely, and a senior role in one of Sydney's biggest councils.
