Job summary

Queensland Government, through eHealth Queensland, seeks a Senior Developer to design and develop innovative web applications for large organisations. You will lead development efforts, advise on software architecture and coordinate system integrations with internal teams and external vendors.

You will promote best practices in development, architecture, security and testing, while applying agile methods to deliver regular product updates in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

Job description

The role:The successful applicant will work closely within a highly experienced and collaborative team designing and developing innovative solutions to complex enterprise challenges in a supportive environment. The position will also ensure the maintenance of defined service levels for specific enterprise applications by providing customer focused service delivery management, high level specialist advice and support. The Senior Developer role provides senior technical leadership and specialist expertise across software development, system integration, and solution delivery activities.The role is responsible for leading development initiatives, advising on software development methodologies and architectural approaches, and coordinating system integrations with both internal and external vendors. A key focus of the position is ensuring that solutions remain current, sustainable, and adaptable to emerging technologies while proactively identifying and managing technical risks.About the role:Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with QPS values as outlined above.Follow defined service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.Provide technical software development skills in the analysis of ICT system issues and the design, development, testing and deployment of appropriate solutions.Provide a lead role in the promotion of software developer best practice covering development, architecture, security and testing.Application of agile development methodology to consistently release product updates.Support for innovation enabled by digital solutionsMaintain and manage effective working relationships and engage with other key operational teams.Liaise, consult and negotiate with stakeholders, customers and internal IT teams as part of the process of developing and delivering software solutions, identifying and communicating benefits, risks and issues for solution and/or optionsFor a full list of your key responsibilities of the role, please see the role description attached to this advertisement.Is this opportunity for you?To be successful in this role you will show experience in building relationships to help support effective business for change as well as with key stakeholders to influence decision making within the project.You will demonstrate experience in the creation and development of web applications for large organisations with minimum 3 years experience.About eHealth Queensland:eHealth Queensland is one of the largest Information Communication Technology operations in the state.
