Job summary

Nomura Research Institute (NRI) is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to join our Brisbane team. You’ll design, build, and support Node.js (TypeScript) backends on Azure while maintaining React SPAs and enabling secure CI/CD pipelines.

The role emphasizes hands-on development and Level 3 production support within a modern Azure-based environment. Hybrid onsite work in Brisbane is supported, with strong collaboration across energy-sector platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience as a Senior Software Engineer or Senior Application Support Engineer.
• Proven experience supporting mission-critical, revenue-impacting platforms.
• Strong background in Azure serverless architectures (Functions, App Services).
• Hands-on experience in DevSecOps and CI/CD-driven environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability in live production systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 3 production support, including incident, problem, and root-cause analysis.
• Perform code-level fixes and configuration changes through CI/CD pipelines.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call roster for critical systems.
• Design, develop, and maintain Node.js (TypeScript) backend services on Azure.
• Maintain and enhance React-based Single Page Applications.
• Support event-driven and real-time systems using Azure Service Bus and Web PubSub.
• Work with Azure Cosmos DB, Azure SQL, and Data Factory ETL pipelines.
• Support integrations with AEMO APIs, FTP services, and internal platforms.
• Contribute to secure, automated CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve platform stability and performance.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer to join our Brisbane-based team, supporting and enhancing critical business applications within the energy sector. This is an initial 2 month contract with a high probability of long term extension.

This role combines hands-on development with Level 3 production support, working across modern cloud-native platforms built on Microsoft Azure. You'll play a key role in maintaining system reliability, delivering enhancements, and supporting mission-critical services in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
