Job summary

Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure NSW – Parramatta NSW is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to bridge software development and operations, enabling faster, smarter delivery of digital services across NSW.

The role involves designing cloud platforms with Azure, implementing automation, and collaborating with diverse teams to modernise infrastructure and ensure security and reliability.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification, recognised industry certification and/or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience designing and delivering cloud-based solutions with focus on reliability and security.

The role

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you'll help bridge the gap between software development and operations, enabling faster, smarter and more reliable technology delivery.

Working across cloud platforms, automation tools and software solutions, you'll design and implement modern DevOps practices that improve service reliability, security and scalability. You'll work closely with technical teams, business stakeholders and vendors to solve complex challenges, modernise platforms and support the delivery of digital services that make a real difference across NSW.

This is an opportunity to contribute to innovative projects while helping shape the future direction of cloud and DevOps capability within DPHI.

What you will bring to the role

• Experience designing, building and supporting cloud-based solutions and platforms
• Experience in Microsoft Azure is preferable
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex technical challenges
• A passion for automation, continuous improvement and modern engineering practices
• The ability to influence stakeholders and build support for new ways of working
• Experience collaborating across multidisciplinary technical and business teams
• A customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering reliable and secure services
