Job summary

Ambrose Construct Group, a national insurer building company, is seeking a Senior Desktop Building Estimator to join our team based at our Kunda Park office. You’ll operate as 2IC to the National VA / Tenders Leader, sitting at the centre of national repair outcomes combining estimating, technical auditing, and virtual assessments to drive “right first time” results across complex insurance projects.

• Construction background (carpentry or trade preferred).
• Strong understanding of residential construction and repair methodologies.
• Experience in estimating, scope writing, or insurance repairs.
• Ability to interpret complex technical reports and make informed decisions.
• Strong written communication with clear, professional reporting capability.
• Commercial mindset with focus on cost control and value outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor, guide, or influence others (formal or informal).

You’ll operate as 2IC to the National VA / Tenders Leader, sitting at the centre of national repair outcomes combining estimating, technical auditing, and virtual assessments to drive “right first time” results across complex insurance projects.

Beyond your own workload, you’ll play a key role in supporting team performance, improving consistency, and acting as an escalation point for complex scope and methodology decisions.
