Job summary

RSEA Safety Australia & New Zealand is seeking an experienced Senior Workwear Designer to join our Design team in Hurstville. You will own end-to-end product development from concept through to bulk production, focusing on commercial workwear and apparel.

You will produce CADs, technical drawings, tech packs and specifications, manage fittings and samples, and collaborate with factories, suppliers and fabric mills to bring products to market.

Qualifications

• Extensive apparel design experience, ideally in workwear or technical apparel.
• Proven ability to take garments from concept through to production.
• Strong garment construction and technical development knowledge.
• Proficiency with CAD drawings, tech packs and detailed specs.

RSEA Safety is Australia’s largest independent safety retailer, supplying workwear, PPE and safety equipment across Retail, B2B and Hire.

With a growing portfolio of in‑house brands, we’re looking for an experienced Senior Workwear Designer to join our Design team in Hurstville.

The Role

Reporting into the Head Of Retail Merchandise, this is a senior, hands‑on design role with end-to-end ownership of product – from initial concept through to final production.

You’ll develop commercial workwear and apparel from the ground up, producing CADs and tech packs, managing fittings and samples, and working directly with factories and suppliers to bring product to market.

The role spans seasonal retail ranges and custom B2B projects across multiple product categories.

Key Responsibilities

• Own product development from concept through to bulk production
• Design and develop commercial workwear and apparel
• Produce CADs, technical drawings, tech packs and specifications
• Manage fittings, sampling and product iterations
• Work directly with factories, suppliers and fabric mills
• Design with a strong understanding of garment construction, fit, function, durability and compliance

About You

• Extensive apparel design experience, ideally within workwear, uniforms or technical apparel
• Proven experience taking garments from concept through to final production
• Strong garment construction and technical development knowledge
• Experience producing CADs, tech packs and detailed specifications
• High proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, with Photoshop desirable
• Experience working directly with factories, suppliers and/or fabric mills
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple products and priorities
• Experience with workwear, Hi-Vis or compliant apparel will be highly regarded
