Job summary

Queensland Health in Rockhampton, Australia, seeks a Senior Dental Assistant (Sterilisation) to uphold safety and infection control standards. You will manage sterilisation processes, support dental teams and ensure equipment quality while maintaining clinical stock and records.

The role requires Certificate III in Dental Assisting and Certificate III in Sterilising (Certificate IV in Dental Assisting is highly regarded).

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Dental Assisting and a Certificate III in Sterilising (or equivalent). A Certificate IV in Dental Assisting would be highly regarded.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to lead and develop a team.
• Understand infection control requirements and AS 5369; support change and improve workplace practices.
• Work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and deliver safe, quality dental services.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of safety and compliance; ensure CSD operates per AS 5369 and policies.
• Coordinate waterline testing and oversee infection control, sterilisation processes and equipment QA.
• Prepare instruments, equipment and materials; provide chairside assistance and support patient comfort.
• Provide administrative support, maintain records, promote oral health education and uphold professional standards.
