Maven Dental Maroochydore is seeking an experienced Senior Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join on a casual basis, supporting clinicians and front desk during busy periods. The role spans chairside assistance, patient management and administrative duties to ensure efficient daily operations.

You will work across clinical and front office tasks, handle appointments, payments, and liaise with the Practice Manager and team to keep patient flow smooth, with shifts across opening hours.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in dental assisting, ideally with senior-level experience.
• Experience in dental reception or front-desk responsibilities.
• Excellent communication and patient service skills; confidence with dental practice software.

Responsibilities

• Providing chairside assistance to dentists and supporting procedures.
• Preparing treatment rooms, sterilising instruments and maintaining infection control standards.
• Ensuring clinical equipment, instruments and materials are ready for use.
• Welcoming patients and managing check-in and check-out.
• Scheduling appointments and recalls; responding to enquiries both phone and online.
• Processing payments and health fund enquiries (HICAPS).
• Maintaining accurate patient records and billing information with care and confidentiality.
• Explaining treatment costs, health fund benefits and gaps.
• Supporting the wider team with daily tasks and maintaining smooth patient flow.

Job Description

You'll work across both the clinical and administrative sides of the practice, supporting our dentists, oral health therapist, Practice Manager and front office team as needed.

From assisting with patient care and preparing treatment rooms to managing appointments and reception enquiries, you'll help ensure the day-to-day running of the practice remains organised and efficient.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing chairside assistance to dentists and supporting a range of dental procedures
• Preparing treatment rooms, sterilising instruments and maintaining infection control standards
• Ensuring clinical equipment, instruments and materials are ready for use
• Welcoming patients and managing check-in and check-out
• Scheduling appointments, managing recalls and responding to phone and online enquiries
• Processing payments, HICAPS claims and health fund enquiries
• Maintaining accurate patient records and billing information with care and confidentiality
• Explaining treatment costs, health fund benefits and gap payments
• Supporting the wider team with daily tasks and helping maintain a smooth patient flow

As a casual team member, you'll be offered shifts across our opening hours. Availability across Monday to Saturday is important, along with the flexibility to assist with both clinical and reception duties as required.

Qualifications

To succeed in the role, you will bring:

• Previous experience in dental assisting, ideally with senior-level experience
• Experience in dental reception or the ability and willingness to work across front-desk responsibilities
• Excellent communication and patient service skillsConfidence using dental practice software and computer applications
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• The ability to adapt to a busy practice and support the team where needed
• Strong knowledge of infection control, sterilisation and clinical protocols
