Job summary

Shield AI in Melbourne is seeking a talented deep learning engineer to advance perception capabilities for autonomous and edge devices. You will work on cutting-edge DL systems, deploy models to edge hardware, and collaborate with fellow researchers to scale our AI stack.

Experience with CNNs/transformers, Foundation Models, and TensorFlow/PyTorch is required; MSc/PhD preferred. You will mentor juniors and contribute to R&D projects across the team.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years delivering DL solutions for CV problems.
• Strong CNN/transformer understanding for classification/segmentation.
• Experience with Foundation Models and modern DL frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Research, design and implement state-of-the-art perception capabilities.
• Deploy AI stack to edge devices and field solutions.
• Collaborate to architect tools to scale DL operations.
• Stay abreast of literature and contribute to R&D projects.
