Job summary

NW People in Australia seeks a Senior Database Administrator for a 12-month contract to deliver critical MongoDB upgrades and migrations across enterprise environments. The role covers SQL Server, Db2 z/OS and Db2 Midrange, with a focus on data integrity, performance and resilience.

You will collaborate with agency technical teams to plan, test and implement controlled changes, maintaining availability while minimising downtime and ensuring knowledge transfer to client teams.

Qualifications

• Expert-level SQL Server administration, including performance tuning, backup and recovery, high availability, and security.
• Expert-level Db2 z/OS and Db2 Midrange administration.
• Expert-level MongoDB administration, including replication, backup and recovery, performance tuning and data consistency.
• Experience delivering controlled database upgrades and migrations.

Responsibilities

• Assess database environments and identify upgrade, compatibility, performance and operational risks.
• Plan and implement upgrades and migrations with minimal downtime.
• Provide performance tuning, replication, backup, recovery and production support.
• Support databases in containerised environments and manage deployment risks.
• Document configuration changes, upgrade procedures, risks and lessons learned.
• Support knowledge transfer within agency teams.
