Job summary

AIA Australia is seeking a Senior Technical Data Owner to coordinate between Data Office leadership and project technology teams, ensuring alignment, effective communication, and escalation of data-related risks.

The candidate will have strong technical fluency in data platforms, with 5+ years in Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, and Power BI, and will guide governance and onboarding across projects within the Data Office framework.

Qualifications

• Experience in a data/tech/project coordination role within an enterprise environment, with strong technical fluency in data platforms.
• Experience coordinating across project and engineering teams in a liaison, coordination, or business analysis capacity.
• Excellent organizational skills to track multiple workstreams and keep information flowing between parties.
• Strong communication skills to translate technical details between project teams and Data Office leadership.
• 5+ years of Azure Databricks experience with lakehouse, medallion architecture, and integration patterns.
• Experience with data cataloguing frameworks, lineage, and access control concepts.
• Experience with CDC tools and how analytics engineering teams deliver data products.
• Experience delivering semantic models in Power BI and associated reporting patterns.

Responsibilities

• Act as the day-to-day liaison between Data Office engineering leadership and project technical streams across the technology portfolio.
• Facilitate clear, timely communication of requirements, decisions, and constraints in both directions.
• Coordinate flow of requirements, questions, decisions, and information between projects and Data Office Leadership.
• Monitor adherence to Data Office requirements, standards, and delivery expectations, escalating gaps.
• Guide project teams on Data Office processes and governance engagement, platform access, and ways of working.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and escalate regulatory/compliance concerns through proper channels.
