Job summary

At Atlassian, we are hiring a Data Platform Engineer to join the Internal Data Platform team in Sydney. You will report to the Engineering Manager and help build scalable data services, focusing on reliability, performance, and operational excellence.

You will design and develop data-driven solutions, collaborate with backend and data engineers, and contribute to building a robust platform used across Atlassian's products. This role supports flexible work arrangements including remote options.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Data/Software Engineering with Big Data exposure.
• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Experience with Kotlin, Scala, Java or Python.
• Strong knowledge of AWS or GCP services.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and own delivery of high quality big data and software solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to spar, design, and ship features.
• Contribute to high code quality via peer reviews and coding standards.
• Drive improvements to security, reliability, performance and availability.
• Apply data-driven decisions to navigate ambiguity and change.
