Job summary

iterate is seeking a Senior Data Engineer in Melbourne to build and run data pipelines that ingest, transform and validate data for a critical platform. You will implement robust dbt models, manage Snowflake transformations and monitor Airflow workflows.

The role emphasizes hands-on data engineering, with deep focus on transformation layers and cost-efficient operations on a short-term contract. Immediate start is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven data engineering experience with Snowflake or a comparable data warehouse.
• Proficient in dbt models, tests, macros and incremental builds.
• Solid data modelling experience (dimensional modelling, SCD patterns).
• Experience across multiple source systems for data ingestion and transformation.
• Strong SQL and Python skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data ingestion pipelines from source systems into Snowflake.
• Develop, test and document dbt models turning raw data into clean datasets.
• Build, schedule and monitor workflows in Airflow.
• Keep pipelines reliable, performant and cost-efficient in Snowflake.
• Troubleshoot data issues and fix them at the source.
• Collaborate with engineers and leads to deliver program priorities.
