Job summary

Xero is seeking a Senior Data Engineer within the G&A Data & Analytics team in Australia. You will build data products, pipelines and semantic layers powering decision making across Finance, PX, and Legal.

• Hands-on experience building SQL data models with dbt for testing, documentation and snapshots.
• Comfortable validating outputs and standing behind the numbers a model produces.
• Curiosity about how AI can make data more accessible and conversational.

Responsibilities

• Go together with Finance, Legal and People teams to translate questions into trusted data products.
• Act as a senior voice, sharing patterns and setting standards for data modeling and validation.
• Find simpler, more reliable ways to model or validate G&A data beyond obvious answers.
