Job summary

Decision Inc Australia is looking for an experienced Data Engineer to design and modernise client data environments, building robust data pipelines and analytics solutions. You will engage with the Sales team during pre-sales activities and POCs, assembling complex data sets to meet business requirements and drive actionable insights.

This role blends hands-on technical delivery with client stakeholder management, delivering billable engagements while developing consulting and leadership skills

Qualifications

• Experience designing and maintaining data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
• Experience with modern data platforms like Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Snowflake.
• Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced consulting environment.
• Strong SQL skills and large data set handling.
• Experience migrating legacy data to cloud platforms.
• Ability to drive process improvements and scalable infrastructure.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and client-facing experience.
• Desire to share knowledge through blogs, forums or workshops.

Responsibilities

• Design and modernise client data environments with robust pipelines.
• Support pre-sales activities and Proof of Concepts (POCs).
• Build analytics tools using data pipelines for insights.
• Collaborate with Executive, Product, Data and Design teams.
• Mentor junior consultants and contribute to knowledge transfer.
• Lead technical reviews and ensure quality assurance.
• Develop responsibilities for data extraction, transformation and loading.
• Balance billable work with project delivery and capacity planning.
