Natural Selection Group is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a growing data and technology team delivering enterprise-scale analytics, AI, and data platform initiatives.

You will build modern data solutions to drive better business decisions, improve operational performance, and support innovation across the organisation in a hands-on, highly visible role working with cloud technologies.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale data engineering solutions.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and PySpark.
• Experience building and supporting cloud-based data platforms.
• Solid understanding of data modelling, data warehousing, and modern data architecture.
• Experience integrating enterprise applications and data sources using APIs.
• Knowledge of Azure data technologies and modern engineering practices.
• Experience supporting advanced analytics, machine learning, or AI-driven solutions.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to operate across both strategic initiatives and hands-on delivery.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Synapse, or similar platforms will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver scalable data engineering solutions supporting analytics, AI, and machine learning initiatives
• Build and maintain enterprise data pipelines using Python, SQL, and PySpark
• Develop data ingestion and integration solutions across a range of business systems and data sources
• Deliver batch and near real-time data solutions that support critical business outcomes
• Partner with Data Scientists to deploy and support machine learning and AI models
• Design, build, and optimise cloud-based data platforms and analytical data products
• Implement data quality, monitoring, and governance capabilities
• Drive automation, CI/CD, and engineering best practice across the data landscape
• Troubleshoot complex data and integration issues within production environments
• Work closely with technical and business stakeholders to deliver practical and scalable solutions
