National Rugby League is seeking a Senior Data Engineer - Data Governance to join our Technology Team and help shape the future of Rugby League. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering and governance, building scalable pipelines that process fan interactions, match data and business metrics while establishing governance frameworks that keep data secure, private and reliable.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in data engineering, 2+ years in governance, strong Python and SQL,

Qualifications

• Hands-on data engineering experience, with at least 3 years in data roles.
• 2+ years in a data governance capacity, delivering policy and standards.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data pipelines at scale using Databricks and Fivetran.
• Define governance policies covering data quality, privacy, security and compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead data governance initiatives.
• Ensure privacy compliance with Australian Privacy Principles and GDPR where applicable.
