Western Sydney University on the Kingswood Campus, Penrith, is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to design, develop and maintain secure data pipelines for analytics and reporting. This 12-month fixed-term role operates with flexible working arrangements and offers a salary of AUD 120,754–134,051 plus 17% super.
You will build ETL/ELT processes using Azure Data Factory, Alteryx, Snowflake, SQL and Python, ensure data quality, and collaborate with the Enterprise Data Architect to align with
Design and optimise secure data pipelines that provide trusted university data for analytics, reporting and operational use.
You will design, develop and maintain the data pipelines, integration processes and transformation logic that connect data from across the University. Your work will provide timely, accurate and secure access to trusted data for analytics, reporting and operational use.
Build and optimise ETL and ELT processes using technologies including Azure Data Factory, Alteryx, Snowflake, Azure, SQL and Python. You will transform datasets into the medallion architecture framework, automate ingestion and transformation workflows, and embed data quality checks and reliability measures within pipelines.
Working with the Enterprise Data Architect and cross-functional stakeholders, you will ensure technical designs align with enterprise architecture, platform and governance standards. You will provide expert advice on scalable integration approaches, contribute to reusable engineering frameworks and influence strategic data initiatives across the University.
