Job summary

AWS Construction Managers lead the delivery of our Data Center projects across Australia. They work closely with internal stakeholders and contractors, resolving issues, managing RFIs and change orders, and driving on-site delivery outcomes.

In this role, you will oversee data center construction from site feasibility through commissioning, travel to datacenter sites, ensure safety and quality, and collaborate with diverse teams to deliver industry-leading facilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction of data center delivery (design, commissioning and construction) or mission critical facilities.
• 10+ years of construction or project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Project management and oversight of construction for new builds or general capital projects in Melbourne; own project scope, timeline, and budget.
• Drive costs down and schedules shorter while maintaining quality.
• Provide Construction Management for initiatives aimed at increasing data center resiliency.
• Review constructability of electrical and mechanical designs for new or optimized data centers.
• Create project scope and equipment requirements; assist with RFPs and capital requests.
• Oversee commissioning and integrated system testing and project execution oversight.
• Manage RFIs and coordinate construction administration with engineers.
• Record and report key metrics to team and management.
• Be a leader within the group and across internal/external teams supporting the data center.
• Travel to datacenter sites for electrical/mechanical audits, reviews, startup testing, and full commissioning.
