Job summary

Aurec is seeking a Senior Data Business Analyst to join the Data Services team in Sydney. You will bridge business needs and engineering by defining data requirements, rules, and high-quality data products.

You'll gather requirements, profile datasets, and collaborate with engineers, PMs, and QA to ensure accurate data transformation and metrics delivery within a modern cloud data platform.

Qualifications

• Translate business needs into structured data requirements and user stories across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers.
• Profile and explore datasets to define transformation rules, data quality expectations, and logic for engineers.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers and Product Managers to define metrics, manage Azure DevOps backlogs, and support UAT delivery.

The role:

Desired Skills and Experiences:

• 5+ years as a Business Analyst in enterprise data, analytics, or modern cloud data platform environments.
• Strong data profiling and requirement-gathering skills with an understanding of data modelling and medallion architectures.
• Familiarity with modern data platforms, cloud lakehouses, and tools like Azure DevOps, Databricks, or Power BI.
