Job summary

The University of Western Australia is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Architecture Specialist to lead advisory and assurance across a diverse portfolio of tech initiatives. You will work with project teams, developers and operators to assess risks and embed secure-by-design principles from concept to deployment.

You will shape cloud, infrastructure and application security, drive governance and assurance activities, and help strengthen the university's cyber resilience.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency.
• Experience conducting security assessments, assurance reviews, or secure-by-design reviews across cloud, infrastructure, and DevSecOps.
• Extensive advisory or consulting on cyber security across complex tech environments.
• Knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST, ASD ISM with pragmatic risk-based application.
• Industry certifications such as SABSA Foundations, TOGAF, CEH, CISSP or CISM desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert cyber security advisory and assurance services across a diverse technology portfolio.
• Assess cyber risks, evaluate security controls, and embed secure-by-design principles from concept through deployment.
• Lead security assessments, assurance activities and governance initiatives to strengthen cyber resilience.
