Job summary

AGD's cyber security function is expanding to protect critical information across the department. The Senior Cyber Security & Risk Specialist provides expert advice on strategy, governance and risk management, working with executives and technology teams to identify threats and implement practical controls.

The role blends strategic influence with hands-on delivery, overseeing assurance activities, risk assessments and cyber incident response, while maturing capability and supporting SACSF

Qualifications

• Experience in cyber security governance, risk and assurance.
• Knowledge of SACSF, ISO 27001/27002 or similar.
• Ability to lead risk assessments and recommend controls.
• Experience with compliance, audits or assurance activities.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert cyber security advice to stakeholders across AGD.
• Lead cyber security risk assessments and recommend risk treatment.
• Drive assurance activities to support SACSF and standards.
• Develop and maintain cyber security policies, standards and guidelines.
• Lead initiatives strengthening threat and vulnerability management.
• Coordinate responses to cyber security incidents and threats.
• Guide security controls for existing and new technologies.
• Lead cyber security projects from initiation to evaluation.
• Prepare reports and briefings for senior management.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships for positive security outcomes.
