Job summary

Avant Mutual is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Analyst to safeguard systems and data for Australia’s medical professionals. The role leads threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management in a hybrid environment, reporting to the Senior Manager, Cyber Defence.

You’ll drive security operations, build automation, and maintain playbooks, while ensuring regulatory compliance and strong stakeholder communication across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of information security experience, with at least 2 years in a senior analyst role.
• Experience in regulated industries (APRA CPS234 or ISO 27001) is preferred.
• Hands-on with threat detection, event correlation and root-cause investigations.

Responsibilities

• Lead threat detection and response across hybrid on-premises and cloud environments.
• Conduct incident response, PIRs and root-cause analysis.
• Utilise threat intel feeds to inform proactive hunting and analytics rules.
• Develop and refine incident response plans, detections, and playbooks.
• Collaborate with partners and MSSPs, manage escalations and SLAs.
