Job summary

Queensland Corrective Services Ipswich is seeking a Senior Training Officer to deliver competency-based training and assess staff in Entry Level Training and Correctional Practices competencies. The role requires strong facilitation skills and expertise in adult learning principles, with the ability to engage diverse cohorts of adult learners.

You will design and deliver training programs, assess outcomes, and collaborate with teams to meet programme goals while ensuring high standards of safety

Qualifications

• Experience in delivery of competency-based training and assessment.
• Understanding of corrections industry operations.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles and applying them in design and delivery.
• Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to negotiate service delivery priorities, deadlines and resources.

Responsibilities

• Deliver competency-based training and assess staff in Entry Level Training and Correctional Practices competencies.
• Facilitate training for custodial officers and other staff.
• Engage diverse adult learner groups to transfer knowledge effectively.
• Work under pressure to meet tight training deadlines and coordinate resources.
