Job summary

Prospa is seeking a Senior Credit Analyst to help small business owners access capital and grow. You will coordinate underwriting, analyze financial statements, and present credit decisions with clear recommendations to senior leadership.

The role offers exposure to diverse industries across Australia and New Zealand in a collaborative, high-performing team. You will leverage strong analytical and risk-management skills in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on customer-first lending

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years underwriting / Credit analyst experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field desirable but not necessary.
  • Previously held a DLA (delegated lending authority).
  • Experience in commercial lending.
  • Experience with business financial documents such as Profit & Loss, Balance Sheets, AR/RP.
  • Strong credit risk acumen and commercial judgement.
  • Experience with property secured lending is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with personal and company credit reports, ASIC searches, and other background information.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organised and ability to follow processes.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to interact professionally with management, sales, and business owners.
  • Experience in a high-pressured environment working to deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating the underwriting of commercial loan applications.
  • Conducting bank statement analysis and financial statement analysis.
  • Providing in-depth detailed analysis of financial statements, industry risk, and credit risk.
  • Presenting deals to Credit Committee with a comprehensive understanding of risk and mitigants and offering strong recommendations.
  • Preparing clear, thorough and informative credit papers for each application.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Coordinating the underwriting of commercial loan applications.

  • Presenting deals to Credit Committee (i.e Executives, Credit Risk, Finance etc) with a comprehensive understanding of the risk and associated mitigants in each transaction, as well as providing a strong recommendation on the proposed outcome and offered insight to upper management regarding credit decisions.
  • Preparing clear, thorough and informative credit papers for each application.
What You’ll Bring
