Qualifications

About the role

Telstra’s in‑house creative agency is looking for a Senior Creative Campaign Partner to play a critical role in partnering with Marketing teams to develop and deliver effective, creatively ambitious marketing campaigns. This role is a senior client and campaign lead within the in‑house creative agency, acting as the key connection between our Marketing stakeholders and the agency’s strategy, creative and delivery teams. You will work closely with marketers to understand their business and customer objectives, shape high‑quality briefs and ensure the agency is focused on the right problems and opportunities. You will partner with Strategists, Creatives, Producers and Marketing teams across consumer, business, enterprise and corporate projects, providing continuity from initial brief and strategic development through to creative development and final campaign delivery. This is a senior role requiring strong autonomy, strategic thinking and stakeholder leadership. You will build trusted relationships with senior marketers, constructively challenge briefs and requests, navigate competing priorities and help teams make informed decisions that lead to stronger creative and business outcomes. The ideal candidate brings strong agency account management or client partnership experience, understands how great creative work gets made and can confidently operate at the intersection of business, marketing, strategy and creativity.

Key Responsibilities
Client Partnership & Campaign Leadership
  • 1. Act as a senior day‑to‑day partner for Marketing stakeholders, building trusted relationships and a deep understanding of their business, customer and marketing priorities.
  • 2. Lead campaigns from initial engagement and briefing through strategic and creative development, maintaining continuity and alignment throughout the agency process.
  • 3. Partner with Marketing teams to interrogate and strengthen briefs, ensuring clear objectives, audiences, customer insights, propositions and measures of success.
  • 4. Provide strategic counsel to stakeholders, constructively challenging requests and helping teams identify the right creative or communications response to the business problem.
  • 5. Facilitate key campaign conversations, presentations and decision points, ensuring stakeholders and agency teams remain aligned.
  • 6. Proactively identify opportunities to improve campaign effectiveness, creative ambition and the overall partnership between Marketing and the in‑house agency.
Strategic & Creative Partnership
  • 1. Work closely with Strategists and Marketing teams to ensure customer, business and brand insights are reflected in campaign briefs and creative development.
  • 2. Partner with Creative teams to ensure they have the context, clarity and stakeholder access required to develop strong work.
  • 3. Champion Telstra’s brand and creative ambition, helping stakeholders understand and support the strategic and creative rationale behind the work.
  • 4. Consolidate and navigate stakeholder feedback, helping create clear direction for agency teams while protecting the integrity of the strategic and creative idea.
  • 5. Connect learnings across campaigns and customer touchpoints to continually improve future briefs and creative responses.
  • 6. Ensure relevant customer insights, data and previous campaign performance are considered during briefing and campaign development.
Agency & Stakeholder Coordination
  • 1. Act as the key interface between Marketing stakeholders and the agency team, ensuring clear communication, expectations and accountability throughout each engagement.
  • 2. Partner with Producers and Creative Services to translate agreed campaign requirements into clear scopes, timings and delivery plans.
  • 3. Work collaboratively with agency teams to identify risks, dependencies or changes in scope and communicate these clearly with stakeholders.
  • 4. Help manage competing stakeholder priorities and support effective prioritisation based on agreed marketing and business objectives.
  • 5. Work with the Creative Services Lead and producers to continuously improve ways of working between Marketing and the in‑house agency.
  • 6. Build strong relationships across Marketing, Media, GTM, Brand, Digital and other relevant teams to enable integrated campaign development.
Campaign Effectiveness & Continuous Improvement
  • 1. Partner with Marketing, Media and Analytics teams to understand campaign performance and identify learnings that can strengthen future briefs.
  • 2. Ensure agreed campaign objectives and measures of success remain visible throughout strategy and creative development.
  • 3. Lead or contribute to campaign retrospectives, capturing learnings across the stakeholder and agency teams.
  • 4. Identify recurring opportunities, challenges and customer insights across the portfolio and bring these back into future planning.
  • 5. Help build a culture of creativity, strategic thinking, accountability and strong client partnership within the in‑house agency.
The successful candidate will have:
  • 7+ years of experience in agency account management, client partnership or a similar senior agency‑facing marketing role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing integrated marketing campaigns from brief through strategy, creative development and delivery.
  • Strong understanding of marketing strategy, creative development and integrated campaign processes across digital and offline channels.
  • Experience partnering with senior Marketing stakeholders and building trusted client relationships.
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to understand a business problem, interrogate a brief and translate complex requirements into clear direction for agency teams.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and presentation skills, with confidence navigating senior stakeholders and challenging conversations.
  • A strong understanding of what makes an effective creative brief and the ability to champion both customer and creative outcomes.
  • Experience working collaboratively with Strategists, Creatives, Producers, Media and Marketing teams.
  • Proven ability to operate autonomously and manage multiple campaigns, stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Experience within an integrated creative agency, in‑house agency or complex marketing organisation would be highly regarded.
  • Experience across B2B or Retail marketing would be advantageous.
