Job summary

Koalaty Mechanical is seeking a senior crane mechanic to lead a small team of technicians, develop work-packs, and provide technical support across workshop and field sites throughout Australia.

You will mentor staff, assist in job quotations, read schematics for diagnostics, and coordinate work with a strong emphasis on safety and quality. A local driver’s license is required, with HR license desirable for progression.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years experience as a qualified crane mechanic.
• Demonstrated ability to read schematics and perform diagnostics.
• Current Australian Driver’s license and willingness to obtain HR license if required.
• Pass a medical assessment and random LABDAS screening.

Responsibilities

• Mentor a small team of multi-skilled technicians and develop work-packs.
• Assist in the quotation of jobs and provide technical support.
• Schedule and coordinate works in the workshop and across multiple sites in Australia.
• Contribute to shaping and improving company practices and industry standards.

What we're looking for

We’re seeking a senior crane mechanic, looking to take their career to the next level. Somebody that’s put in the time to develop their own skills and is now ready to step up into leadership and management. Somebody willing to step out of their comfort zone, take calculated risks, make mistakes and achieve what others wouldn't attempt. An emerging or established leader, committed to being that little bit better than they were the day before.

Starting out in the role of workshop supervisor, you’ll be charged with mentoring a small team of multi-skilled technicians, developing work-packs, assisting in the quotation of jobs, providing technical support, as well as scheduling / coordinating works both in the workshop & throughout various sites across Australia.

This position will be multifaceted and challenging, with no two days ever being the same. What you'll need

A strong work ethic and an optimistic approach when encountering new challenges.

Australian Recognized Heavy Diesel or Mobile Plant Mechanical Trade.

Minimum five (5) years experience working as a qualified crane mechanic.

The ability to pass a medical assessment & random LABDAS screening as required.

In Depth diagnostic and component rebuild knowledge, including the ability to read schematics.

The ability to work both in a team and autonomously to complete objectives.

Current Australian Driver’s license.

A commitment to problem-solving and meeting operational objectives.

Valid high risk work licences & a HR class driver's licence - highly desirable.
