Job summary

Multicultural Consulting Services Pty Ltd is seeking a senior cost planner to lead preconstruction cost planning for Queensland building projects across healthcare, education, civic and commercial sectors. You will prepare tender quantities and cost plans, track market trends and develop supplier pricing to support budgets.

The role requires a tertiary qualification in construction/engineering and at least ten years of multidisciplinary estimating experience, with advanced financial management

Qualifications

• Ten years of construction experience with multidisciplinary estimating capability.
• Advanced financial-management and contemporary estimating software skills.
• Experience across construct-only, design-and-construct, managing-contract, alliance, joint-venture and PPP delivery models.
• Ability to assess safety, environmental and quality risks and interpret requirements affecting costs.
• Qualifications in construction, engineering, QS, or project/construction management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tender quantities and cost plans from drawings, briefs and specifications.
• Track pricing, market trends and construction methods and maintain benchmarked work breakdowns.
• Develop supplier and subcontractor pricing and present escalation and cash-flow assessments.
• Peer-review estimates and support major variation assessments.
• Check design development against budgets and contribute as-built cost analysis and feasibility pricing.
