Job summary

Murdoch University is seeking a Senior Coordinator Immersive Learning Technologies to lead immersive tech use across learning spaces and support staff in deploying XR, MR, and AI-XR. You will collaborate with academic staff and external partners to evaluate and implement innovative learning tools.

You will champion capability development, governance, and inclusive use of immersive technologies to enhance learning outcomes while guiding staff development initiatives and technology evaluations.

Qualifications

  • Postgraduate qualification or progress towards postgraduate qualifications.
  • Extensive relevant experience in learning innovation and immersive technologies.
  • Experience delivering professional learning programs and technology support.
  • Ability to collaborate with academic, professional and external partners in higher education.

About The Team

The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Education) portfolio leads the delivery of high-quality, inclusive, and engaging education, ensuring students are supported to succeed and graduate with adaptability, fresh perspectives, and social responsibility.

Your New Role!

The Senior Coordinator Immersive Learning Technologies leads the implementation, support, and continuous improvement in using immersive technologies, including extended reality (XR) such as virtual reality (VR), mixed reality (MR), and AI-enhanced Extended Reality (AI-XR), to enrich learning and teaching. Working closely with academic staff, and other internal and external partners, the role supports the effective use of emerging technologies and innovative learning spaces across the University. Your key responsibilities will include – Lead the effective use of immersive learning technologies and innovative learning spaces providing specialist advice and support to enhance learning and teaching outcomes Champion innovation and capability development in learning technologies by leading staff development initiatives, leading technology evaluations, and undertaking monitoring and reporting Build strong partnerships with academic staff, internal partners, and external vendors to drive the effective implementation, continuous improvement, governance, and inclusive use of immersive technologies for learning and teaching across the University. This Continuous | Full Time (37.5 hours per week) attracts a remuneration of $101k – $133k (pro rata) plus 17% employer superannuation contributions. What you’ll bring to the role:
  • Postgraduate qualification or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience in learning innovation, immersive technologies (including virtual and mixed reality), technology enhanced learning and learning space design
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering professional learning programs and technology support that promote inclusive and effective learning and teaching
  • Proven ability to collaborate with academic, professional, and external partners to implement, support and evaluate educational and immersive technologies in higher education
  • Strong communication, coordination, and service management skills, with experience managing multiple projects, priorities, resources, and timelines
  • Strong technical expertise in digital learning environments and immersive technologies, including XR, AI-XR and device management, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other project, service, and data management tools
