Job summary

Mipac is seeking an experienced Lead Control Systems Engineer to own complex control projects, including international site work during FATs, commissioning and critical delivery phases. The role suits senior engineers who welcome responsibility, pressure and leadership of technical delivery across PLC/SCADA/DCS platforms.

Leads client meetings and provides robust technical leadership while mentoring other engineers, ensuring work aligns with Mipac standards and governance.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering industrial control systems in complex environments.
• Hands-on across PLC and SCADA platforms (Rockwell, Siemens, Yokogawa, Schneider).
• Led FATs, commissioning and site delivery, ideally including international or remote sites.
• Comfortable working in ambiguity, competing priorities and pressure.
• Sees engineering as a professional service with long-term client outcomes.
• Mentors engineers and shares knowledge to lift team capability.
• Holds Australian working rights and travel internationally.
• Experience in mining, energy or heavy industrial projects.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical authority for PLC, SCADA and DCS design, configuration, integration and commissioning.
• Lead and represent Mipac during client meetings, FATs, commissioning and site delivery.
• Provide clear technical leadership; resolve issues with respect and sound judgement.
• Approach engagements with a service-focused mindset and practical solutions.
• Provide professional advice to clients and maintain strong relationships.
• Mentor and develop engineers to build capability.
• Model calm leadership and influence team behaviour.
• Ensure activities align with standards, governance and delivery approaches.
