Job summary

Rio Tinto Exploration is seeking a Senior Adviser for Contracts to lead end-to-end contract management across a diverse exploration portfolio. The role partners with technical and operational specialists to translate requirements into clear, executable contracts and to manage risk across multiple sites from Perth or Brisbane.

You will influence contracting strategy, tendering, negotiation and close-out, while maintaining strong governance and stakeholder relationships in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
• Demonstrated capability managing contracts across the full lifecycle, including strategy, scope, tendering, evaluation, negotiation, award, administration and close-out.
• Substantial experience in contracts, procurement, commercial management or project delivery in a complex, multi-site environment.
• Ability to translate complex requirements into clear scopes, packages and delivery arrangements.
• Qualification in commerce, business, law, procurement, supply chain or related discipline, or substantial equivalent experience.
• Strong written communication and stakeholder engagement with senior leaders and cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of multiple contracts, from planning through renewal and close-out.
• Translate drilling, earthworks and logistics needs into clear scopes and executable contracts.
• Coordinate RFPs, tender documentation, evaluations and service agreements.
• Coordinate supplier negotiations and manage risk within delegated authority.
• Maintain forward visibility of demand, milestones and renewals for proactive contracting.
• Administer variations, disputes, claims and close-out actions with contract owners.
• Maintain auditable contract registers and governance records for assurance.
• Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and suppliers.
