Job summary

Genius People in Sydney, NSW seeks a Senior Consultant in Disputes & Economics to contribute to forensic investigations, damages assessments, and financial modelling on a range of engagements.

You will prepare and review financial models in Excel, write client reports for senior leaders, manage client expectations, and assist with project administration and risk management. A strong foundation in accounting, commerce or law and CA/CPA progress will help you succeed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, commerce or law is required.
• CA/CPA qualification or progress is desirable.
• Experience in accounting, internal audit, risk, compliance or related fields is preferred.
• Strong Excel and MS Office skills are essential.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to distill complex information.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of forensic accounting engagements, including damages assessments and financial investigations.
• Prepare and review detailed financial models (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) and conduct DCF analysis.
• Draft reports and deliverables for review by senior directors.
• Coordinate client expectations and handle project administration and risk management.

About the Opportunity

This role is responsible for contributing to the execution of Forensic investigations, disputes, project administration and risk management on a range of engagements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing all aspects of forensic accounting engagements primarily involving damages assessments, valuations and financial investigations.
• Preparing and reviewing detailed financial models in Microsoft Excel, including analysing profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow forecasts in order to prepare a DCF analysis.
• Writing reports and other deliverables for review by Managing and Senior Managing Directors.
• Managing client expectations and job administration.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Accounting, Commerce or Law
• Interested in or completed CA/CPA
• Experienced in an accounting, internal audit, risk, compliance, enforcement or similar role
• Highly knowledgeable in the use of the Microsoft Office suite
• Naturally curious with an aptitude for breaking down and solving problems
• Able to deal with sensitive matters confidentially and tactfully
• An excellent communicator (both written and verbal), able to distil and explain complex information and relate to key concepts
• Personable and confident in project management and delegation of tasks
